Class Description
This course is for all employees looking to develop their leadership potential by focusing on
how they bring their best selves to work each day. The course is partly based on Stephen
Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as well as Brene Brown’s work on courage
and vulnerability. The a.m. portion will focus on Covey’s private victories and the p.m. on
exploring what Brene means when she says, “The courage to be vulnerable is not about
winning or losing, it’s about the courage to show up when you can’t predict or control the
outcome.”
Objectives:
• Identify the three main “stances” available to us with any event
• Understand the power there is in “owning your response”
• Explain the connection between vulnerability and courage
• Choose abundance over scarcity thinking
• Listen in a way that helps others fully show up
Target Audience: Staff at all levels
