Class Description

Conflicts are unavoidable—in the workplace and beyond. Some executives unintentionally provoke them through unexamined use of authority; others avoid conflict altogether. Both limit team performance. Conventional advice like “be a better listener” often falls short because it doesn’t address what's happening in the brain/body, nor does it offer a way to change one’s habits.

This practical one-day course introduces a neuroscience-based method to strengthen communication and resolve conflicts more effectively. Drawing on recent brain science and the Brain Hacks methodology, you'll optimize your brain/unleash your brain power to address all three components of solving conflicts including the often-overlooked non-verbal and emotional elements that drive interactions

You will master practical exercises that will empower you to maintain calm and clear thinking, communicate effectively and to solve conflicts at work and at home. Brain Hack activities are easy to master and to implement. You will experience immediate improvements in these skills.

You'll assess your communication skills at the start and end of the program—and after each activity—to track real-time improvement. You’ll leave equipped with techniques to use immediately, at work and at home.

Objectives:

  • Understand the three components of communication
  • Learn what the most cutting-edge neuroscience says about how the brain works
  • Understand how brain organization affects communication skills
  • Identify specific brain functions related to the three components of communication
  • Master targeted activities that synchronize your brain for all three components of effective communication
  • Understand the role of your emotions in all of your communications
  • Create a detailed implementation plan to use daily to reinforce your learning and become a master communicator and conflict solver.

Target Audience: Staff at all levels
