Class Description
A hands-on, application-focused course for professionals ready to take the next step in their statistical training. This one-day workshop introduces participants to inferential statistics and the tools used to make predictions and test hypotheses using real-world data. Building on basic statistical knowledge, this session covers advanced methods including t-tests, regression, ANOVA, and chi-square tests. Using Excel and R, participants will practice applying these techniques to common evaluation and analytics challenges.
Goals:
- Understand and apply inferential statistical methods, including t-tests, regression, ANOVA, and chi-square tests
- Learn how and when to use Excel or R for each type of analysis
- Develop the ability to interpret results and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
- Strengthen capacity for making data-informed decisions and predictions
Key Takeaways:
- Participants will be able to conduct and interpret t-tests to compare means
- Participants will apply linear and multiple regression models to explore relationships between variables
- Participants will understand how and when to use ANOVA for comparing group means
- Participants will use chi-square tests to assess relationships between categorical variables
- Participants will gain practical experience using Excel and R for conducting inferential analyses
Target Audience: Managers, analysts, and anyone interested in statistical analysis
