Class Description
This training is designed to introduce concepts and strategies that may help City employees safely navigate an active shooter situation and respond more effectively. By the end of this course, you will learn about:
- Ways to prepare for an active shooter event.
- The A-B-C Protocol and actions to take when faced with an active shooter situation.
- Expectations when engaging with law enforcement officers who are responding to a crisis situation.
- Other considerations to make when in a crisis situation.
This training provides recommendations and best practices to equip City employees with tools to remain alert and respond safely and effectively to an active shooter situation. It is intended to provide a basic framework and/or enhance specific plans and procedures within your Agency.
