Class Description
MOCS is an oversight agency that assists 40+ Mayoral agencies with processing and registering procurements. MOCS establishes best practices in NYC procurement and interprets and enforces the Procurement Policy Board (PPB) Rules, along with other Local Laws. One of the ways MOCS serves City Agencies is by training procurement professionals in the City through teaching classes like this one.
This course will introduce the most important methods used by city agencies to obtain goods and services while maintaining compliance with applicable local, state, or federal laws and Procurement Policy Board (PPB) rules.
Objectives:
- Provide background knowledge on the procurement process and procurement methods.
- Quiz participants on what procurement method the agency should select.
- Explain the reason for selecting specific procurement methods, e.g., timelines, laws, regulations, and best practices.
Target Audience: This course is part of the Procurement Training Institute curriculum for all Mayoral and agency staff with procurement-related responsibilities in New York City.
There is no cost to employees; the agency covers the cost of participation for their employees.
If you require a reasonable accommodation to attend a training, please contact the DCAS Citywide Learning and Development Center at CitywideTrainingCent@dcas.nyc.gov at least 7 days before your training start date.
