Class Description
This fast-paced workshop gives participants an opportunity to write a brief persuasive message and receive feedback in small group and whole class discussions. Included are exercises for understanding readers’ concerns and for following up on proposals to increase their chances of acceptance. Working on a self-selected issue, participants employ a process for successfully planning, creating, and polishing documents that influence their readers to act on key ideas.
Objectives:
- Apply theories of persuasion to the writing situation.
- Discover the elements of powerful argumentative writing.
- Use sound rhetorical strategies and development methods.
- Maintain a fresh style for your proposals and position papers.
Target Audience: Managers and administrators responsible for writing proposals, position papers, and other persuasive documents for management approval
